Happy While Away operates happywhileaway.com. This Privacy Policy explains what personal information we collect when you browse, place an order, track a delivery or contact us, why we collect it, and the choices you have.
What we collect
- Contact details: your name, email address, phone number and delivery address, when you place an order, request a back-in-stock alert, leave a review or write to us.
- Order details: the products you buy, the order number, the amount paid and the payment method you chose.
- Payment information is collected and processed by Razorpay. We never see or store your card, UPI or bank details.
- Delivery events: tracking updates shared with us by our courier partners so you can follow your parcel.
- Technical information: your IP address, browser type and the pages you visit, used to keep the site secure and to understand how it is used.
How we use it
- To process, pack, ship and deliver your order and to tell you where it is.
- To answer your questions and resolve returns or refunds.
- To send you a back-in-stock alert if you asked for one.
- To publish reviews you submit, under the name you provide.
- To detect and prevent fraud, abuse and attacks on the site.
- To comply with Indian law, including tax and consumer-protection obligations.
Who we share it with
- Razorpay, to take your payment.
- Our courier partners (such as Delhivery and Shiprocket), to deliver your order. They receive your name, address and phone number.
- Hosting and database providers that run this website under strict access controls.
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
We do not sell your personal information to anyone.
How long we keep it
Order records are kept for as long as Indian tax and accounting rules require. Back-in-stock alerts are deleted once sent or when you unsubscribe. Contact messages are kept for up to one year. When your data is deleted, at your request or from your account, it leaves everything we use at once; as India's Digital Personal Data Protection Rules ask, a sealed record of what was deleted is kept for one year, where no one on our team can open it, and is then erased. Your orders stay in our books for tax, without your name or contact details, and your email stays only on our unsubscribe list, so our emails never start again.
Your choices
You can delete your data yourself from your account (Delete my data), or ask us to show you, correct or delete the personal information we hold about you, or to stop sending you alerts, by emailing hello@happywhileaway.com. We will respond within 30 days.
Cookies
The site sets the cookies it needs to work: to remember what is in your cart, to run the checkout and to keep you signed in. We also load Google Analytics and the Meta Pixel, which set their own cookies to measure how the site is used and whether our ads led to a purchase. We do not sell this data. You can block these with your browser's tracking protection or an ad blocker and the site still works.
Security
All traffic to the site is encrypted. Personal data is stored in an access-controlled database and is only reachable by the people who need it to fulfil your order.
